Wood Roasted Beef on a Monday Night

We have a family member and her kids staying with us, so I thought I would put the pizza oven to the test and see if it was possible to cook filet over beef in it. It appears it is. And with it I made a Béarnaise Sauce, Crispy Fried Courgettes, Braised Asparagus, Tomato Salad and Spicy Rice.  I am going to focus on the beef here, but you can find most of the others on the site links and the courgettes will be coming soon.

Maldon Salt

Olive Oil

Light the pizza oven and get up to temperature – I put mine in at 350C. Cut the beef into four even sized pieces. Liberally rub with salt and olive oil. Heat a griddle in the pizza oven. Prepare all the accompaniments. Put each piece of meat on the griddle. Turn after two and a half minutes. Take out after another two and a half minutes. Rest for five minutes. Serve.
